Kadarius Toney Vanishes Sunday, Falling Into Drop Territory
one year ago

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney (toe) went backward for one yard on his only catch in Week 3's 41-10 thumping of the Chicago Bears. The 24-year-old was questionable with a toe issue entering play, but his presence was barely noticeable, anyway. After his uneventful first-quarter play, Toney was not turned to again on a day the Chiefs marched up and down the field for five touchdowns. The former first-rounder's talent remains fleeting, and second-round rookie Rashee Rice could start eating into his opportunity before long after catching five balls for 59 yards on Sunday. Toney appears to be at risk of being phased out of the offense, but it's still too early to cast that judgment. Still, he has devolved into a luxury bench stash at best, and we probably wouldn't blame you for hitting the drop button on a hot waiver pickup like Tank Dell or Adam Thielen.
