Kadarius Toney Can't Be Trusted Sunday

On top of scoring his first touchdown of the season, Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney (toe) eclipsed 2022's 16-catch total during Week 6 in three fewer games played, but his yards per reception (5.4) on 17 catches have been troublingly halved from last year. Toney's 25 targets on 71 routes run equates to a rapid 35.2% target rate, but a microscopic 2.2 average yards of target distance suggests the training wheels are still on after Week 1's multi-drop debacle. Toney's 2.84 average yards of separation when the pass arrives are spiked by the fact he almost exclusively gets targeted near the line of scrimmage. The former first-rounder at least played a season-high 44% of the team's offensive snaps last Thursday, but Toney's lopsided profile means he's only a last-ditch WR4/5 in Week 7's setup versus a Los Angeles Chargers defense that's yielded the most half-PPR fantasy points per game to WRs.
