Kadarius Toney A Tough Sell Thursday
one year ago

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney took a baby step toward returning to fantasy relevancy in Week 5 against the Minnesota Vikings, recording season highs in targets (six) and snap rate (38%). Even so, Toney hasn't seen a red-zone target since the season opener and the Chiefs have not utilized the explosive former first-rounder down the field (zero deep targets) whatsoever. Toney is regularly separating (33% target rate) and being afforded accurate targets from quarterback Patrick Mahomes, but his fantasy standing is stuck in dart-throw WR4/5 range until these underlying metrics translate into a notable fantasy result. If taking the leap of faith in starting the struggling 24-year-old in Week 6, fantasy managers can rely on the Denver Broncos having surrendered the eighth-most fantasy points per game (29.1) to opposing WRs lined up out wide this season.
