Ka'imi Fairbairn Out Roughly Three Weeks, Matt Ammendola Taking Over

With Houston Texans kicker Ka'imi Fairbairn (quadriceps) out around three weeks with a strained quadriceps muscle that he suffered in the Week 9 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, practice-squad kicker Matt Ammendola will be signed to the active 53-man roster, according to a source. Ammendola will make his Texans debut in Week 10 against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. Ammendola, 26, has two years of kicking experience in the NFL with the New York Jets, Arizona Cardinals and Kansas City Royals, making just 18 of his 26 career field-goal attempts (69.2 percent) while making 19 of his 22 extra-point tries. Fantasy managers should be able to find much better streaming options at the position in Week 10 and beyond.
