Ka'imi Fairbairn Could Miss Time With Quad Injury
one year ago

Houston Texans kicker Ka'imi Fairbairn (quadriceps) was injured on a kickoff in the Week 9 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and is scheduled to undergo an MRI exam on Monday. There is concerns that he could miss multiple games, according to a league source. It's bad news for the Texans special-teams unit, as Fairbairn had made 18 of his 19 field-goal tries this year before getting hurt in the first half on Sunday. He was replaced by running back Dare Ogunbowale, who made a 29-yard field goal in the win. Before getting hurt in Week 9, the 29-year-old Fairbairn made an extra point and a field goal from 50 yards out. Although Ogunbowale was serviceable in an emergency role, the Texans will likely sign another kicker if Fairbairn is unable to play in Week 10 against the Cincinnati Bengals.
