Juwan Johnson Expected Back In Week 8
one year ago

New Orleans Saints head coach Dennis Allen expects tight end Juwan Johnson (calf) to be available to play in Week 8 against the Indianapolis Colts. It was reported on Monday that the Saints were hoping Johnson would be able to return, but this sounds a bit more optimistic that the 27-year-old will return for the first time since injuring his calf in pregame workouts before the Week 4 contest. He hasn't practiced or played in a game since, leaving the Saints to split the workload at the position between Taysom Hill, Foster Moreau and Jimmy Graham. Johnson should be the team's top pass-catching option at the position if he's available this weekend, but he'll merely be a low-upside TE2 streamer in a Saints offense that hasn't really been in sync all year.
