Justin Fields To Avoid Thumb Surgery?
one year ago

When asked if Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields (thumb) will need surgery on his right thumb, head coach Matt Eberflus said, "We are not on that path right now. We are trending in the right direction." It's good news, but Fields has already been ruled out for Week 7 against the Las Vegas Raiders after dislocating his thumb in the Week 6 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. It's unclear if he'll have a chance to play in Week 8 on the road against the Los Angeles Chargers. It will mostly come down to grip strength for Fields. Although Fields and the Bears have mostly been a disappointment to this point, he deserves to be stashed in all fantasy leagues. Undrafted rookie Tyson Bagent will make the first start of his career this Sunday against the Raiders.
