Justin Fields Could Fetch Second- Or Third-Rounder
9 months ago

According to NFL executives, if the Chicago Bears indeed decide to trade quarterback Justin Fields this offseason, the majority opinion is that Chicago would receive a second- or third-round pick in the upcoming draft. It's looking more likely that Fields will be dealt and the Bears will take USC QB Caleb Williams with the first overall pick. "There's a reason they're moving on," an executive pointed out. Fields has amazing rushing ability and physical traits, but he still needs to improve his field vision to anticipate throws, and the former first-rounder's inconsistent accuracy remains a concern. He finished with a career-high 61.4 completion percentage in 2023 and has 6,674 passing yards, 40 TDs and 30 picks in his career. Despite his deficiencies, the soon-to-be 25-year-old is still young and will have QB1 upside in 2024, and perhaps even more upside with a new team.
