Jordan Mason Surprisingly Leads Niners In Rushing Yards
one year ago

In a blowout 42-10 victory over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night, San Francisco 49ers running back Jordan Mason got a lot of run late in the game and finished with 10 carries for a team-high 69 rushing yards and one touchdown. He was targeted once in the passing game but didn't bring it in. Mason was serving as Christian McCaffrey's backup for the second straight week with Elijah Mitchell (knee) hurt. The 24-year-old only ran the ball three times for 10 yards and caught one pass for 13 yards in last week's win over the Arizona Cardinals, so his output on Sunday night was a little eye-opening. If not for the game being well out of reach with a full quarter left to play, Mason surely wouldn't have seen as many touches. However, he could continue to see work behind CMC if Mitchell cannot stay healthy.
