Jonathan Taylor Undergoing Thumb Surgery Wednesday
12 months ago

Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (thumb) will undergo surgery on his injured right thumb on Wednesday, according to head coach Shane Steichen. Steichen isn't sure how much time Taylor will miss, but he said he hoped the 2021 All-Pro would be back sooner than later, depending on how his rehab process goes. Injured Reserve is not being considered for Taylor, which means he should be able to return in two to three weeks. The biggest concerns for Taylor with the injury are ball security and pass protection. Fantasy managers will need to keep Taylor stashed for now. In the meantime, Zack Moss will serve as Indy's lead back with Trey Sermon backing him up. Moss has 672 rushing yards (10th among RBs) and is averaging almost five yards per carry in 2023.
