Jonathan Taylor Signs Three-Year, $42 Million Extension With The Colts
one year ago

Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor has signed a three-year, $42 million contract extension with the team, according to Adam Schefter. The 24-year-old back gets $26.5 million guaranteed as part of the deal. This marks the first time since 2021 that a running back has received a long-term deal worth more than $10 million per year (Nick Chubb), Schefter noted. This deal also makes Taylor the third-highest-paid running back in the NFL behind San Francisco's Christian McCaffrey and New Orleans' Alvin Kamara. Taylor will now hit free agency in 2026 when he is 27, which gives him a path to signing another lucrative deal if he continues his stellar play. The former Wisconsin Badger was also activated off the PUP list and will make his 2023 debut on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans. It's a good day to be Jonathan Taylor.
