Joe Thuney May Have A Chance To Play

Even though Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said it's a long shot for All-Pro left guard Joe Thuney (pectoral) to play in Super Bowl LVIII this Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers, those around him still believe there is a chance that he could suit up, according to a source. Thuney said the picture will be more clearer the closer we get to Sunday's big game. The 31-year-old suffered a significant pectoral injury in the Divisional Round win over the Buffalo Bills and did not play in the AFC Championship against the Baltimore Ravens. He's going to need to practice at some point later this week most likely in order to have any chance of being active on Sunday. If Thuney cannot go, it will be a big blow for KC's offensive line and offense as a whole, and the team would be asking Nick Allegretti to step up in his place. UPDATE: Thuney officially missed practice Wednesday.
