Joe Flacco Now The Backup In Cleveland

Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said that veteran quarterback Joe Flacco, who was just signed last week, is now the backup to rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson (concussion). Thompson-Robinson suffered a concussion in the Week 12 loss to the Denver Broncos and is now in the league's concussion protocol, so Flacco could be thrust into a starting role in his 2023 debut this weekend versus the Los Angeles Rams. The Browns have lost all trust in P.J. Walker, who fumbled two more times in relief of DTR this past Sunday. Flacco, 38, is unlikely to light up the scoreboard for the Browns, but he should be able to avoid turnovers and has much more experience in the league than Walker. In five games (four starts) for the Jets in 2022, Joe Cool threw for 1,051 yards, five TDs and three interceptions while completing only 57.6% of his passes.
