Jimmy Garoppolo Clears Concussion Protocol
one year ago

Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo missed last week's game against the Los Angeles Chargers due to a concussion. Raiders rookie quarterback Aidan O'Connell started in Garoppolo's place and put forth a decent outing, but not enough to win the game or challenge the starting job. With Garoppolo clearing the concussion protocol, he will start Monday's contest. Garoppolo is slated to face the Green Bay Packers on Monday. The Packers are tougher on the pass than the run, leading teams to run on them more often. Garoppolo will benefit from an extra day of rest, but it may not be enough. Raiders star wide receiver Davante Adams has not practiced the past two days and is questionable for this game. If Adams misses, the Raiders may lean more on running back Josh Jacobs. The Raiders are home favorites and projected to be in a positive game script, possibly leading to fewer pass attempts, yards, and touchdowns for Garoppolo. It may be wise to downgrade expectations for the Raiders offense in this contest.
