Jets Officially Name Zach Wilson Their Starter
one year ago

The New York Jets confirmed that quarterback Zach Wilson will start moving forward after Aaron Rodgers suffered a torn left Achilles in Monday night's win over the Buffalo Bills. "I want to make it very clear, Zach's our quarterback. We have a lot of faith in Zach. We're rolling with Zach and excited for him," head coach Robert Saleh said. The Jets also have Tim Boyle on their practice squad, but they're expect to add another signal-caller eventually for more depth. Wilson basically played the entire game in Week 1, going 14-for-21 for 140 yards, one touchdown and an interception in relief of Rodgers. The 24-year-old was bad in 2022 and was benched, so he shouldn't be expected to suddenly be a savior for the Jets. Expect a run-heavy game plan on offense moving forward, which will hurt Garrett Wilson's and Allen Lazard's fantasy upside the rest of the way.
