Jets Not Ready To Replace Zach Wilson With Trevor Siemian
one year ago

New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh said on Tuesday that he's not considering bringing quarterback Trevor Siemian up to the active roster from the practice squad ahead of their Week 10 game against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday night. Zach Wilson failed to lead the Jets to a touchdown in the 27-6 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday night, going 33-for-49 for a season-high 263 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions. He was sacked a season-high eight times and lost two fumbles. The 24-year-old hasn't shown much improvement at all in his third NFL season despite completing a career-high 59.9% of his 267 passes for 1,600 yards, five TDs and five picks in eight games (seven starts) for a QBR of 32.3. The Jets will stick with him for now instead of turning to Siemian, who hasn't started an NFL game since Week 12 of 2022 with the Chicago Bears.
