They have contacted the Tennessee Titans about the No. 1 overall pick, but those talks were described as "preliminary" and "checking in." The cost of moving up that high would be extremely high, and neither Miami's Cam Ward nor Colorado's Shedeur Sanders are slam-dunk franchise QB prospects. SNY learned that the Jets are more likely to dabble in the second-tier veteran QB market, according to sources. The Jets' plan is to pair Tyrod Taylor with another veteran QB and then draft another signal-caller on Day 2 (or trade up late in the first round). Potential veteran targets include Marcus Mariota, Justin Fields and Carson Wentz.
