Jerome Ford Expectedly Out Of Practice
one year ago

Cleveland Browns running back Jerome Ford (ankle) did not participate in Thursday's practice, per Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram. No surprise here, as Ford didn't practice Wednesday and is nursing a low-grade high-ankle sprain that's set to shelf him for at least Week 8 against the Seattle Seahawks. The Browns do not anticipate having to move their 23-year-old fill-in lead back to short-term injured reserve, though neither did the Los Angeles Rams with Kyren Williams managing an ankle sprain at this time last week before surprisingly placing him on IR. Kareem Hunt (thigh), who was at Cleveland's practice Thursday, is lined up to handle the bulk of the backfield work on Sunday after netting three touchdowns in his last two outings. With Ford doubtful, Hunt ranks as an RB2 in a run-focused Browns offense with Pierre Strong Jr. likely contributing as a change-of-pace back.
