Jerick McKinnon - Week 2 Outlook for Fantasy Football
one year ago

Kansas City Chiefs running back Jerick McKinnon was virtually invisible in a Week 1 loss, posting a lone catch on two targets for 10 yards. It was noteworthy, however, that the 31-year-old played on the bulk of Kansas City's third downs and goal-to-go situations in the season opener. This usage seemingly positions McKinnon as the backfield's best bet to hit paydirt in a Week 2 game that could feature plenty of points. Additionally, the Jacksonville Jaguars defense surrendered the second-most catches (104) and third-most receiving yards (787) to RBs in 2022. While the pass-catching McKinnon appears to have the edge on running mates Isiah Pacheco and Clyde Edwards-Helaire for high-value touches, it's remiss to place him anywhere higher than on the RB3/4 borderline until his overall opportunity climbs after seeing only 20 snaps last Thursday.
