Jerick McKinnon Remains Touchdown-Dependent
one year ago

Kansas City Chiefs running back Jerick McKinnon's 2022 pass-catching prosperity, which saw him pile up 512 receiving yards and 9.1 yards per reception, has been elusive in five 2023 games thus far. The 31-year-old's standalone value appears nonexistent, with his target share (6.6%) and routes run (53) ranking outside the top 24 RBs. McKinnon has a scant 16 touches this season, so whatever remains of his overall fantasy worth seems to be hanging on by a thread at this point. Though he'll be taking on a Denver Broncos defense that's given up the third-most catches (30) and most receiving touchdowns (four) to the position, McKinnon holds extreme touchdown dependency in order to attain a usable fantasy score in Week 6. Treat the veteran scat back as more of a handcuff, who would still likely be splitting work with Clyde Edwards-Helaire if anything were to happen to lead back Isiah Pacheco.
