Jerick McKinnon May Get More Involved In Tough Draw
one year ago

After being removed from the injury report with a groin injury, Kansas City Chiefs running back Jerick McKinnon (groin) could be looking at an expanded role in Week 9 against the Miami Dolphins. McKinnon has an unfathomable 21 rushing yards despite playing in all eight games this year, but Clyde Edwards-Helaire (illness) will be out of K.C.'s backfield rotation due to an illness on Sunday. CEH leaves behind just a 15.4% snap share, but perhaps that could clear enough of a path for McKinnon to near a 50% split. The 31-year-old elusive back's receiving ability could be utilized if the Chiefs find themselves in a pass-heavy game script against a superb Fins offense, but Miami has held enemy backs to the fewest catches (23) this year. Isiah Pacheco has monopolized backfield work throughout the season, but he's yet to eclipse a 61% snap share in any one game. Treat McKinnon as a dart-throw RB4/flex in PPR formats with touchdown dependency.
