Jerick McKinnon Disappears In Thursday’s Loss
one year ago

Kansas City Chiefs running back Jerick McKinnon hauled in a 10-yard pass in Thursday's 21-20 loss to the Detroit Lions. Any hope for the 31-year-old handling additional opportunity sans Travis Kelce (knee) never quite came to fruition in the season opener. McKinnon was mostly invisible after his first-quarter reception, but he at least took more snaps (31%) than starter Clyde Edwards-Helaire (23%). Week 1 usage suggests KC's backfield is at risk of devolving into a three-man committee, rendering the pass-catching McKinnon a hit-or-miss, PPR-specific RB3 choice with no rushing floor in Week 2 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
