Jerick McKinnon Almost Entirely Touchdown-Dependent
12 months ago

Kansas City Chiefs running back Jerick McKinnon has been a fantasy afterthought in 2023. So much so, McKinnon has played a higher percentage of snaps as a special-team player than on offense in each of his nine games played this year. It's a curious drop-off for the 31-year-old veteran, who's rushed a mere 12 times for 23 yards on the campaign as a whole. McKinnon's 17 catches (23 targets) and 147 yards are not nearly enough to support RB3/flex value even in the deepest PPR settings. McKinnon misleadingly ranks second among RBs in fantasy points per opportunity (1.49), which is skewed by the fact that he has three touchdowns on 35 combined carries and targets. The elusive back's six red-zone touches make it all the more unlikely that he's presenting any fantasy relevance whatsoever. McKinnon is a last-ditch RB4 option in full-PPR formats for Week 11 versus the Philadelphia Eagles.
