Jaxon Smith-Njigba Leads Seahawks Receivers In Week 9
one year ago

On a day where the Seattle Seahawks struggled to get anything going on offense, wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba finished with six receptions for 63 yards in Week 9. Those totals led the team in each category and the catches were a new personal best for the rookie. Smith-Njigba was able to take advantage of the attention focused on fellow receivers DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett to make his own plays, including a 35-yard grab to start the fourth quarter. Sunday's modest success combined with his production over the last two weeks suggests that the first-round pick may be closer in fantasy value to Tyler Lockett, whose floor seems to be dropping. Smith-Njigba looks poised for the fabled late-season breakout with the Washington Commanders on deck in Week 10.
