Jaxon Smith-Njigba Grabs Another Touchdown
one year ago

Wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba caught the go-ahead touchdown for the Seattle Seahawks in their victory over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. With DK Metcalf (ribs/hip) active once again, Smith-Njigba returned to his role as the team's third wide receiver and was targeted just four times, logging three catches for 36 yards and the score. There are advantages to being third in line for targets, though, namely that defenses will be paying him less attention, opening him up to make plays like we saw today. A second-half breakout is not out of the question for the 20th overall pick, but it will be hard to trust him in Week 9 against the stout defense of the Baltimore Ravens.
