Javonte Williams Picks Up 30 Touches, Scores Against Kansas City
one year ago

Denver Broncos running back Javonte Williams rushed the ball 27 times for 85 yards and added three catches for 13 yards and a touchdown in the team's 24-9 upset victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. His attempts and rushing yards were new season-high marks. The Broncos picked up an early lead and were given short fields on several occasions throughout the game which allowed them to lean on the running game. Backups Jaleel McLaughlin and Samaje Perine combined for just five carries. Speculation that either would take control of this backfield has been put to rest. Williams will be in the RB2 conversation when the Broncos return from their bye week against Buffalo.
