Javonte Williams Leads Broncos In Rushing In Week 1
one year ago

Denver Broncos running back Javonte Williams led the team in rushing attempts (13) and rushing yards (52) in the 17-16 season-opening loss to the visiting division-rival Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday. In addition to his ground work, he also caught four of a team-high six targets for an additional five yards. Although backfield mate Samaje Perine was more efficient with 5.1 yards per carry on eight rushing attempts, Williams' Week 1 involvement (17 total touches) has to be considered a plus for his fantasy managers after he tore his ACL and LCL against these same Raiders last year in Week 4. The 23-year-old may not be as involved in the passing game once receiver Jerry Jeudy (hamstring) makes his 2023 debut, but the 23-year-old should only become more involved as he gets further removed from knee surgery. Consider Williams an RB3/flex with upside in Week 2 against a tough Washington Commanders defense.
