Javonte Williams Has His Best Game Against Packers
one year ago

Denver Broncos running back Javonte Williams still hasn't found the end zone, but he had his best game of the year in the 19-17 win over the visiting Green Bay Packers on Sunday in Week 7. Williams finished the victory with a team-high 15 carries for 82 yards (5.5 yards per carry) while catching three of his four targets for an additional 14 yards. His 15 carries were 10 more than backfield mate Jaleel McLaughlin on the day. The 23-year-old's totals were both season-highs on the ground and as a pass-catcher. McLaughlin will continue to have a role in Denver's backfield, but if Williams can build off what was his most explosive performance (he had a 21-yard run on Sunday), he could demand a bigger share as the lead back. Williams will carry RB2 upside into a Week 8 rematch against the defending Super Bowl-champion Kansas City Chiefs.
