James Cook Tries To Regather Momentum Sunday
one year ago

Buffalo Bills running back James Cook's early-season momentum reached a screeching halt in Week 5's London game, going backward for four yards on five carries. Perhaps a date with an atrocious New York Giants defense is just what the doctor ordered for a possible Week 6 elixir to his recent struggles. The G-Men have been obliterated for the second-most rushing yards (679) and rushing touchdowns (six) to enemy RBs on the campaign. Note that defensive coordinator Don Martindale's unit has held opposing backs to the fourth-fewest catches (16) and receiving yards (91), as Cook has been dangerous as a pass-catcher with 10.0 yards per reception this year. The 24-year-old may need to control the ground game in order to hit for a big fantasy result. With the hope that Buffalo recovers its positive game script from prior outings, it's worth going back to the well with Cook as an RB2 with RB1 upside in Sunday night's potential smash spot.
