James Cook Hopes For Better Scoring Luck Thursday
one year ago

Buffalo Bills running back James Cook has experienced an up-and-down campaign, showing a lacking floor and ceiling combination. Cook has only submitted one 20-touch outing, despite limited backfield talent around him, which occurred in a blowout-infused Week 2 win. The 24-year-old has stood out in the passing game, however, with an RB-best 10.9 yards per catch. Scoring has been the Achilles heel for Cook in Year 2, with just two touchdowns while Latavius Murray and Josh Allen have siphoned away six combined rushing touchdowns. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are one of only two teams to not allow a rush TD this season. With that said, Cook's matchup would significantly brighten if stud run-stopper Vita Vea (groin) can't play in Week 8. Cook's explosiveness is undeniable (5.8 yards per touch), but it's yet to translate into consistent fantasy prosperity as a weekly midrange starter and top-24 option.
