James Cook Gains 73 Scoreless Yards
one year ago

Buffalo Bills running back James Cook had another solid, yet unspectacular, fantasy showing in Week 8's 24-18 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, accruing 73 scoreless yards on 15 touches (one catch). Cook expectedly lost some red-zone work to Latavius Murray, which is sounding like a broken record at this point. Cook turned eight first-half handles into 44 yards before picking up 29 more yards over seven totes across the rest of the game. It feels like the same story every week for the elusive 24-year-old, who continues to look as slippery as any ball-carrier but cedes high-value chances to the trusted Murray. Cook is on pace for a healthy 972 rushing yards on 204 carries (4.8 YPC) with 38 catches for 384 yards (10.7 YPR) but just four touchdowns at the campaign's traditional halfway mark. The 2022 second-rounder remains a middling RB2 in Week 9's Sunday night clash with the Cincinnati Bengals.
