Jaleel McLaughlin Will Face More Competition For Touches
one year ago

Denver Broncos undrafted rookie running back Jaleel McLaughlin was a popular waiver-wire pickup last week after Javonte Williams (quadriceps) was hurt in Week 4. Williams didn't play in the Week 5 loss to the New York Jets, while McLaughlin led the backfield with nine carries for 68 yards while catching three passes for 21 yards and his third touchdown of the season despite being out-snapped 38 to 21 by backfield mate Samaje Perine. Williams no longer has an injury designation and will play on Thursday night against the Kansas City Chiefs, which puts a damper on McLaughlin's fantasy upside as an RB3/flex in starting lineups. The 23-year-old has looked like the team's best RB so far through five weeks, but sharing touches with both Williams and Perine will give him both a low ceiling and a low floor in Week 6.
