Jaleel McLaughlin In Line For Bigger Workload
one year ago

Denver Broncos undrafted rookie running back Jaleel McLaughlin remains in line for a bigger workload in Week 5 against the New York Jets this Sunday, even if Javonte Williams (quadriceps) is cleared to play. Williams is questionable heading into Sunday's game after getting hurt in the Week 4 win over the Chicago Bears. McLaughlin impressed throughout training camp and has gotten the coaching staff's attention with his work ethic. The 23-year-old took seven carries for a team-high 72 yards and caught three passes for 32 yards and a touchdown last week after Williams was hurt. McLaughlin will be harder to trust as an RB3/flex play in fantasy lineups if Williams is active this weekend, but he has clearly earned a bigger role early in 2023 and appears to have already leapfrogged Samaje Perine on Denver's RB depth chart.
