Jahmyr Gibbs Has Low Floor Against Panthers
one year ago

Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs saw workhorse usage against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 3, but that was in the absence of David Montgomery (thigh). Montgomery returned in Week 4 and immediately took over the backfield, rushing 32 times for 121 yards and three touchdowns. Gibbs handled just 12 touches for 51 yards. The rookie is proving to be an efficient ball carrier and solid receiver, but until his role in the high-powered Lions' offense increases, he'll have a low floor in fantasy football. That said, the Carolina Panthers have allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to running backs this season, so he and Montgomery could both have solid fantasy outings. Gibbs is risky in Week 5, but there is upside in this spot.
