Isiah Pacheco An Adequate RB2 Option On Thursday
one year ago

Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco aims to kick off the season with a bang after capturing the team's lead-back role in the middle of 2022. The 24-year-old gathered 139 attempts for 681 rushing yards (4.9 YPC) and 11 catches for 121 receiving yards with four touchdowns in 11 games as starter last year. The Chiefs experienced plenty of positive game script, going 10-1 as a team across this span, which only aided Pacheco's rise. The former seventh-rounder enters Thursday's tilt versus the Detroit Lions as KC's favorite for carries but likely loses third/passing-down duties to Jerick McKinnon while Clyde Edwards-Helaire also mixes in. After ranking 11th in fantasy points against RBs last year, the Lions defense proved to be more vulnerable through the air. Still, Pacheco situates as a midrange RB2 in a potentially high-scoring environment where the Chiefs could be playing from ahead.
