Isaiah Buggs Released By Lions

The Detroit Lions released defensive tackle Isaiah Buggs on Tuesday. Head coach Dan Campbell said fellow defensive lineman Alim McNeill (knee) could be back from Injured Reserve this week, and this move makes room for that to happen. Buggs was a sixth-round pick by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2019 out of Alabama. He was on the Las Vegas Raiders practice squad in 2021 before signing with the Lions. The 27-year-old appeared in all 17 games for Detroit last season, totaling 46 tackles, one sack, and a forced fumble. This season, he has only played in ten games, compiling 12 tackles, one sack, and a fumble recovery.
