Hayden Hurst Clears Concussion Protocol

Carolina Panthers tight end Hayden Hurst (concussion) said he cleared the league's concussion protocol on Sunday and is looking forward to a fresh start. Hurst suffered a serious concussion in Week 10 and never played again in the 2023 season. The 30-year-old was diagnosed with post-traumatic amnesia and was eventually placed on Injured Reserve. In his nine games played in his first year in Carolina, Hurst caught only 18 passes for 184 yards and one touchdown in the worst offense in football in which rookie quarterback Bryce Young struggled mightily. He signed a three-year, $21.75 million deal last offseason, so Hurst will be back in 2024 with a new head coach and new general manager running things in Carolina. Depending on whether a new coaching staff can get more out of Young and this offense, Hurst could improve if he can stay healthy.
