Giants Expected To Stick With Daniel Jones
12 months ago

New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen said that the expectation is that quarterback Daniel Jones (knee) will be the team's starting quarterback when he is healthy. It won't stop team brass from addressing the QB room in free agency or the draft, though. Schoen mentioned that veteran Tyrod Taylor (ribs) is a pending free agent and undrafted rookie Tommy Devito is under contract. Jones is facing an eight- to 10-month recovery after having surgery to fix a torn right ACL on Nov. 22. The 26-year-old had a disastrous 2023 campaign before suffering a season-ending ACL injury, and he also missed some time with a neck ailment. A terrible and beat up offensive line didn't help, but aside from his rushing ability, Jones hasn't shown much as a passer outside of his solid 2022 season.
