George Kittle Quiet In Loss
one year ago

San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle came back to earth in a big way during the team's 19-17 loss to the Browns in Cleveland on Sunday. Kittle, who fired up fantasy managers in Week 5 against Dallas with his first three touchdowns of the year, caught one of two targets for one yard receiving in this one. Although Kittle has disappointed statistically numerous times in 2023, this one stings more since it looked like Kittle had some momentum from the Cowboys game, and San Francisco clearly needed him this week for the first time. In addition, the 49ers were without Deebo Samuel and Christian McCaffrey for a large portion of the game, which theoretically should have stoked some involvement of Kittle. At any other position, Kittle's flops this year would send him tumbling in the rankings, but tight end is so top-heavy that he'll remain a TE1 when the 49ers go to Minnesota to take on the Vikings in Week 7.
