Geno Smith Set To Play In Week 16

Updating a previous report, Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said that quarterback Geno Smith (groin) will have a full week of practice and play on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans in Week 16. Smith missed his second straight game in Monday's upset win over the Philadelphia Eagles, but he was active as an emergency backup behind Drew Lock after he looked good during pre-game warmups. As long as the 33-year-old veteran doesn't suffer any setbacks with his injured groin this week in practice, he will send Lock back to the bench this weekend. Smith has dealt with injuries in 2023 and hasn't been nearly as effective as he was in 2022, but he did have 300-plus passing yards in Week 13 against the Dallas Cowboys with a season-high three touchdowns. If he's back in Week 16, he'll be a high-end QB2 in fantasy in a middling matchup against Tennessee.
