Gabe Davis' Scoring Spree Ends In Week 6
one year ago

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Gabe Davis couldn't recover from a fumble in the first quarter of Week 6's narrow 14-9 win over the New York Giants, corralling three passes for 21 yards. Davis coughed up the football while fighting for extra yardage in the first quarter en route to a quiet two-catch, 18-yard first half before making one more three-yard reception early in the fourth period. Sunday night was a harsh reminder of the 24-year-old deep threat's inconsistent tendencies, as his performance offered a far cry from his four-game touchdown streak that was shattered amid a rough box score. To be fair to Davis, Buffalo's shut-down offense struggled to move the ball until late in the game. Any hope that Davis' hot stretch was pushing him into every-week WR2 conversations may have to be put on hold for now, and he'll be a fairly TD-or-bust WR3 in Week 7 against the New England Patriots.
