Frank Reich Taking Back Play-Calling Duties In Carolina
12 months ago

Carolina Panthers head coach Frank Reich said he is taking back the offensive play-calling duties from offensive coordinator Thomas Brown for the remainder of the 2023 season. The Panthers have just two touchdowns in 30 offensive drives since Brown took over the play-calling duties for the last three games. "I've haven't been given any ultimatum," Reich said. "Do we want to be in control of our destiny? Of course. This is about if I have something that I can give to the team, I need to give it." Reich wants to do everything he can to help rookie quarterback Bryce Young and an offense that ranks worst in the NFL. Carolina averaged 18.6 points in the first game with Reich calling the plays, compared to 13.6 points the last three games under Brown, who was calling plays for the first time in his coaching career.
