Falcons Part Ways With Arthur Smith After Three Seasons
11 months ago

The Atlanta Falcons fired head coach Arthur Smith on Sunday night after three seasons without a playoff berth or a winning record. The team says a search for a new coach will begin immediately. Atlanta's 2023 campaign hit rock bottom when the division-rival New Orleans Saints blew them out 48-17 in Week 18 to drop them to 7-10 for the third straight year and remove any hope of keeping their flickering playoff hopes alive. Smith's usage of some of the squad's most talented playmakers, such as Bijan Robinson, Drake London, and Kyle Pitts, drew the ire of many fantasy managers throughout the course of his tenure, so it remains to be seen what their offense might look like under a different system. It also remains up in the air as to who will be starting under center next season for the Falcons, as Desmond Ridder and Taylor Heinicke are both under contract for 2024 after the two formed a bit of a quarterback carousel this year.
