Arizona Cardinals rookie running back Emari Demercado (toe) is missing his second straight day of practice on Thursday. The Cardinals also signed Tony Jones Jr. to the active roster from their practice squad on Thursday, which might shed more light on Demercado's status for the upcoming Week 9 game on Sunday against the Cleveland Browns. It's not looking good for the 24-year-old undrafted rookie to suit up and serve as the Cardinals' lead back this weekend after he handled 20 carries in the Week 8 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. James Conner (knee) can't return from Injured Reserve until next week, so if Demercado is inactive this Sunday, Keaontay Ingram and Jones would likely split the backfield workload in a shy-away matchup against Cleveland.
