Elijah Mitchell Starts Practice Week As DNP
11 months ago

San Francisco 49ers running back Elijah Mitchell (knee) was a non-participant at practice on Thursday. The 49ers did not practice on Wednesday, so Mitchell begins official practice preparation as a DNP. Mitchell has been in and out of San Fran's lineup all year long due to a knee injury, having most recently missed the team's latest two games. The Louisiana product has an extra day to heal up ahead of a marquee matchup against the Baltimore Ravens on Monday night. Starting off with no listed activity is not a good sign, however, for his availability. Mitchell has seen double-digit carries in a single game on just one occasion this year, and his contingency upside behind starter Christian McCaffrey is diminishing with just two weeks left in the fantasy season. Jordan Mason rushed five times for 20 yards on 13 snaps last Sunday and would occupy the Niners' change-of-pace role once again if Mitchell sits out in Week 16.
