San Francisco 49ers running back Elijah Mitchell (knee) was limited for the team's first practice of the week on Wednesday. Mitchell did not play in the Week 14 win over the division-rival Seattle Seahawks, but his return to the practice field early in the week suggest he has a good chance to play in Week 15 against the Arizona Cardinals. The 25-year-old's return would push Jordan Mason, who scored a touchdown last Sunday, back to the third-string role behind All-Pro Christian McCaffrey and Mitchell. Mitchell has no standalone fantasy value as the backup to CMS, as he's carried the ball only 44 times for 149 rushing yards and no touchdowns in his nine games in 2023. He's averaging a career-low 3.4 yards per carry.
