Don Martindale To Speak With Jaguars Next Week

Former New York Giants defensive coordinator Don "Wink" Martindale has been a popular figure in defensive-coordinator searches, and the Jacksonville Jaguars are among the teams interested. The two sides are expected to speak about Jacksonville's vacant defensive-coordinator position next week. The Jaguars have an opening after firing Mike Caldwell following the regular season. Caldwell was the main scapegoat for Jacksonville's late-season collapse that caused them to miss the playoffs. Martindale and the Giants agreed to mutually part ways after the 60-year-old "cursed out" head coach Brian Daboll when several of his assistants on the defensive staff were let go. Martindale has an aggressive style of play-calling that features plenty of blitzing.
