DJ Chark Jr. Officially Out Against Bears
one year ago

As expected, Carolina Panthers wide receiver DJ Chark Jr. (elbow) is inactive for Thursday night's game against the Chicago Bears after entering the game doubtful to play. Fellow wideout Laviska Shenault Jr. (ankle) was ruled out on Wednesday. The Panthers will also be without tight end Stephen Sullivan (shoulder) in Week 10. Chark played in the Week 9 loss to the Indianapolis Colts after being questionable and even scored a touchdown, but he isn't ready to go on a short week. With the 27-year-old sitting out, rookie Jonathan Mingo and Terrace Marshall Jr. should start in three-wide sets alongside veteran target hog Adam Thielen. Mingo might deserve a look as a deep-league flex play against a generous Bears defense, but the young pass-catcher will still be more of a boom/bust asset with Chark on the sidelines.
