DJ Chark Jr. Eyes Panthers Debut In Week 2
one year ago

Carolina Panthers wide receiver DJ Chark Jr. (hamstring) could make his season debut in Week 2 against the New Orleans Saints on Monday night. The 26-year-old missed the Panthers' final preseason game and last week's season opener against the Atlanta Falcons due to a strained hamstring suffered on Aug. 22. Chark was signed in the offseason to a one-year, $5 million contract and was expected to be a reliable target for rookie quarterback Bryce Young. Last week, Young threw the ball 38 times but completed only 20 of his passes. In Week 2, the Panthers face a Saints defense that held DeAndre Hopkins to 65 yards. Even if Chark does play on Monday night, he is probably best left on fantasy benches.
