DeVonta Smith A WR2 Despite Tough Divisional Matchup
one year ago

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith will take on the Dallas Cowboys in Week 9. The 24-year-old was on a five-game streak of poor fantasy performances until last week when he caught all seven of his passes for 99 yards and a touchdown against the Washington Commanders. Teammate A.J. Brown has been dominating defenses and scoring the majority of passing touchdowns for Philadelphia this year, but Smith got his last week and will be needed desperately this week against the division-rival Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys' defense allows the fourth-fewest fantasy points per game to the wide receiver position but will be doing all they can to stop Brown from breaking the game wide-open. This means there could be an increase in targets for both Smith and tight end Dallas Goedert, who will see more single coverage. The third-year receiver got things back on track last weekend and could have a sneaky good fantasy performance against a top-tier defense. Consider Smith a WR2 in Week 9.
